“I can’t believe how much he already changed!” Those were my first words after I received the photos that were taken just a few days before at our Fresh 48 session in the hospital.

This was our third sweet baby and I hadn’t considered a newborn session prior to this. I changed my mind when I realized how little I remembered and how few pictures I had of the time in the hospital with our other children.

We had done a family lifestyle session with Robin about a year ago, so I knew that if I was going to do a Fresh 48 session and allow someone in to a very vulnerable time for me personally and for our family, it was going to be her. The style of her photography is very natural, and this allowed the space for me to be comfortable in the hospital room without worrying about hair and makeup 36 hours after delivering my son.

She also had a way of capturing the personality of my family in a way that will help me remember how they experienced this first meeting of the newest addition. There was no pressure on time or expectations of my kids to “smile” or get the right shot- Robin put herself in a position to capture all kinds of unique and special moments I wasn’t even aware of during the session.

I had some difficulty leading up to the session with putting aside my insecurities of a postpartum body. This completely dissipated when I spent time getting photographs with my son prior to the family coming and then when I saw my kids run in to meet him, I knew they saw only the joy of a new brother and that is what I wanted captured.

I truly wish I could have photos like this with all my babies so they could look back and have the moment memorialized of when they became part of our family and we fell in love with them.

I will always cherish these photos and this experience with my family. A huge thank you to Robin for making it everything we dreamed of and more.
