I’m always a fan of keeping it simple, not only in clothing and accessory choice, but also for the background. There is no need for a headshot to have patterned backgrounds or anything that distracts from the subject. You should always start with one of these options.

Using a colorful background for your headshot can differentiate your image from a sea of other images. They can also result in super fun images. Here are a few ways to purposefully incorporate a colorful background.
- Match your background to a similar color of your clothing.
- Match your background to your brand colors.
- Choose colors based on the season or event.
